About Us
The Other Place Resort is located on 4 1/2 acres along the horseshoe bend of the spring fed Comal River. This family owned resort has been a getaway for families since 1910, when it was founded by Ernst Giesecke. Because of our unique location on the peninsula of the Comal, all but one of our cottage are river front, with a river view. There is easy access to the river; you can float the horseshoe bend without leaving the property.
Our location is secluded and peaceful, yet only 4 blocks from the shops and restaurants in downtown New Braunfels.
Sit and relax on your back porch and watch the river flow by, and watch the deer which have taken up residency here. Enjoy our central picnic area which includes bar-b-que grills, a playscape for the kids, volleyball court, and horseshoe pit. It’s a great place to gather with family and friends after a day of floating the river.
